Join our inclusive community where everyone is welcome!

Caregiving is challenging, but you are not alone. Being a caregiver means navigating a whole new world of needs for your loved one and finding the latest information and insights that are helpful. Welcoming Wellness aims to inform and empower you through providing critical information and support resources so you can succeed. To decrease stigma often associated with mental health issues, we strive to build a safe community with open dialogue for caregivers.

Thank you for visiting Welcoming Wellness, where we bring mental health resources to you!  Our goal is to provide resources to parents, grandparents, caregivers, friends, and allies of persons struggling with mental health issues.  We want to make sure you always have access to the information you need so that you and your loved one can pursue the journey from mental illness to mental wellness.  You are not alone!  We hope you will join us in Welcoming Wellness as we empower mental health caregivers!

There are three important components to this website, and you can find them listed in the menu at the top of each page.

First, we have speaking events.  These events will be presented in person at White Plains UMC at 313 SE Maynard Rd., in Cary, NC 27511, and as a Zoom webinar. (To attend on Zoom, please RSVP for each individual event on the Events Page you would like to attend. Or sign up for our email newsletter. We will send you a Zoom Webinar Link.) Each of these events will feature a mental health professional who will speak on their area of expertise.  Some examples include a therapist, an attorney, a representative from a mobile crisis center and behavioral health urgent care facility, representatives from Social Security, Medicaid, and NAMI (National Alliance On Mental Health), as well as many others.

Second, we have an extensive Video Library that is available 24/7 for your reference. This library contains past presentations of individuals speaking about different aspects of the mental health caregiving journey.

Third, we have externally resourced to community partners. We do this by providing community resources and community events.  In this section, you will find links to other resources that may be helpful on your loved one’s journey to mental wellness.

Be sure and sign up for our newsletter so that you will get the latest information about our speakers, and any other in-person events that we schedule.  This sign-up will also ensure that you receive a link to our Zoom/Webinar presentations each month.
